7:17 pm	Blacked out; The best and the rest of 2008 First off, Happy new year! Sorry I didn't send any (E-)cards out this year, but I just simply didn't have the time. I did mean to wish you all a scary christmas and a haunted new year...So Happy new year everyone and I hope you had a great XXXMas. 2008 has been a pretty crazy and wild year for yours truly. the band's been a bit on a lowdown due to looking for singers all the time after I stopped singing and wanted to focus on beating the hell out of my bass... Singers come and go...we did however had the time to work on our own material and I can't wait to let you ghouls hear all of it. Also right before the end of the year my contract got extended with 6 months and as of january I got more responsibilities @ my job and really are becoming a foreman now. Ain't that ace. I'm pretty psyched about it and scared at the same time cuz I still am so inexperienced. We'll see how it goes. Just go with the flow. Also the biggest adventure by far has been living together with my girlfriend, sadly for a way too short period of time, cuz the house we lived in got sold so we had to get out and now live seperate again and pretty much after we moved out, we got a call that the sale was off and if we wanted to live there again. Go kiss my not-so-hairy monkeycheeks! I may be insane (at times), I'm not crazy. 2008 was insane, from crappy paying job to a decent job in somethig I never thought of doing, living together and living apart again. Missing out on pretty much all the festivals and yet have seen some great bands and discovered some awesome bands and finally saw some bands I wanted to see for a long long time; like Crucified Barbara and Sister. 2008 in a nutshell: 2008 Highlights - Living together with my girlfriend. I'm a huge GNR fan and I honestly didn't dare to dream it would actually really be true this time around. It's a decent album but no classic(k). Or real GNR to be honest. 7:50 pm	Chinese Democracy, Haley and it's all about Sex, Murder, Art, Baby To be honest I expected it would take at least another year or so before the new Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy would be released after the last time they said it would be released this year. Fuck I believe they've been saying that every year. And then the countdown clock appeared on their Myspace... Could this be real? Could it be that finally after 15 years or so, the new Guns N' Roses album would see the light of day? Or actually, the even bigger question; Was it worth the wait? Well... I bet there has been a lot of thought put in the album and there's here and there a stench of illusion too. The intro of Street of Dreams sounds very similar to November Rain and the soundsamples in Madagascar are partly the same as in Civil War. And the rest...of the songs is more in the vein of the song O My God the all more new GNR recorded for the End of Days soundtrack. More an industrial vibe. Yeah you really need to 'Use your Illusion' on this album. Does it make it a bad album. No, It's a pretty good, decent album. It has some nice catchy songs and some good ballads on it. Is it Guns? Absolutely not. Too be honest I think the album would've had twice as much succes if Axl Rose would've brouth the album out under a different bandname, or (perhaps even better) his own name. It's more a solo album and a GNR tribute band that ries to sound like GNR, than that it is GNR. A more interesting thing I received in the mail last weekend was the album Haley by Haley. A young new band by Steve Haley, formely the guitarist of Trashlight Vision. A mixture of glam, rock and punk. Absolutey a pleasant suprise in today's rockscene. Go check them out at www.myspace.com/haleyband Also this weekend I received Acey Slade's Sex, Murder, Art, Baby EP in the mail. Acey Slade, probably best known as the guitarist of the Murderdolls and singer/guitarist of Trashlight Vision gives a little taste of his forthcoming soloalbum. The EP features 2 album tracks, one EP exclusive and a couple of remixes of the songs by Piggy D (ex-Wednesday 13, Rob Zombie), Skinny (Deathstars) and Loopy (Hansel und Gretyl) and came in a really cool trigger case. Fuck I love the case, I've been playing with it all day, hahahahahahaha The EP tastes for more and I really can't wait for the full length album to be unleashed. Musically it's nothing like Murderdolls or trashlight Vision or Dope. It sounds like Acey is going back to his roots. Both Das Reptile House and Nothing's Gonna Change sound very much like his work with the Vampire Love Dolls back in the days. Dark brooding, dance-ish, rock. 8:30 pm	Another one bites the dust Sad how a great Halloween weekend (more about that soon) had to end so grave. Last sunday we parted ways with our singer Stan Nightingale. Things just didn't work out the way we hoped. What's grave about the whole situation is that on a personal level we did work out. We clicked, his enthusiasm was phenominal and gave us an extra boost aswell. He is a great energetic singer, has charisma and there was just a great chemistry between us. So why kick him out of the band you might think. Well, on a personal level I find it annoying when you still can't sing the right lyrics even if you still have the songsheets next to you. Moan about not having the right vibe in certain songs, how the verse sounds the same as the chorus and that he needs an extra boost in there to make the song more alive. That's not to us how we play it, that's for him to do with his voice. Eventually those little things annoyed the living shit outta me. And then I'm not even getting started on how he wants to sing too much and doesn't shut up during a solo. But that's not the reason why we had to part ways. After already telling him gently several times and even gving him warnings he always managed to be too late for rehearsals. And that's what broke us up. It became annoying having to wait for him every time again. I mean, once he's there he's there and he does what he does best, but he's always late and then wants to rehearse an hour longer and if possible twice a week. I don't mind rehearsing an hour longer every now and then, but BE ON TIME! We need someone we can built on. Know that everybody is on time. Now it was still rehearsals, but what if we had a gig and he would be too late. That doesn't work out. Last sunday was the last drup. We got fed up with this situation and decided to cut the knot and end this. it's for all the best. Sad but true. So yeah me and the boys are looking for a new singer. AGAIN. 6:00 pm	These are crazy, crazy nights The weekend was insane. One year anniversary with my girl, which was awesome. I never gotten further than two months in a relationship before getting dumped, screwed over and kicked in the teeth by love. Made me all the more cynical over the years and bitter...and now. Just look at me now, I'm the happiest motherfucker alive. Yeah grim cupids are still flying high. Baby, I love you! Went to see Max Payne, which was fun although a bit slow before really grabbing ya and getting into the story. But it was fun nevertheless. Spilled nearly all the M&M's over the floor there. Some Maltesers too. Fuck what a (colorful) mess we made, Hahahahaha. Actually I should say I made. Stairway was as it was supposed too, although there were a lot of strange, new faces. I know I haven't been around much over there lately, but well it was good to be back. And things were insane. From hearing out of Maus' mother's mouth that if she was younger she could get the hots for me, to anting to go outside for a smoke, but can't cuz if I would've gone outside, I wouldn't be allowed to come back in (ME, the guy from Stairway) according to the bouncer. So I go back inside, walk into a handful of peanuts (people with indonesian blood in their veins), three to be exact, and they wanted to get a photo with me. I already was pissdrunk anyway but always camera-horny so why the fuck not. Ended up on 2 pictures with one of the peanuts sepreate and a group shot with all 3 mpeanuts and 2 gals who walked in and one just wanted to be on the picture with me. Blonde, head taller than I am, 31 years old and that's all I can remember. So much for an impression she made, hahahahahahaha But fuck peeps, she was fucking hitting on me. Kept on telling me that I was so pretty. Pissdrunk or not, I was flattered. It's a good boost for my selfesteem. But you know, I don't get it. When you're lonely and single no one cares to look at you and the ones that do, you hardly even notice. But when you're in a relationship all of the sudden evryone seems to be staring at you, hungrily, hunting...Like you got covered in honey and whipped cream. What the fuck is that all about? I don't understand. I think it's funny and flattering and you really caress my ego when you say I'm pretty (GAWD, I sound so narcistic now), that's all it does. I actually beleive I need to be pissdrunk to even notice/recognice that someone's hitting on me. Normally I don't notice. I always hear it from someone else. "Man she into to you, she's totally flirting with ya" Really? Couldn't ya give me a warning before I came across as uninterested? Not that it matters now. Like I said before; I'm the happiest motherfucker alive. And I can be truly, deeply, madly flattered when you hit on me and flirt with me, but that's all. It doesn't afect me in any deeper way simply cuz I already have all I want and need in my devildoll. Crazy, crazy nights...I wonder what next week; HALLOWEEN will bring for madness! 5:13 pm	This Halloween - costume search/idea What to be, what to be this Halloween? Last year I didn't even have the chance to dress up for any Halloweenparty cuz during those dates I had gigs with my band. So I showed up still wearing my stage gear. So yeah, this year I wanna dress up, but as what? A vampire or the crow is so yesterday, yet I like the dark vibe it has and the fact that it's really basic. Not too over the top (although that's fun too). I like basic every once in a while. So this halloween things'll be basic with a twist... I decided to dress up as my favorite wrestler on the WWE roster; The Undertaker But I'm gonna spice that outfit up with how Catwoman looked in the movie Batman Returns. I mean that catwoman outfit Michelle Pfeiffer wears in that movie is killer!! Dont'cha think?! So mix these to images together and you'll get what I will look like this Halloween. Hope I get it finished in time. Handsewing a coat really takes a lot of time, but it'll be worth it, I promise. Once it's done, I'll put some pics up of the end result. Happy Halloween! Next week I will have to get my old 30W amp over and get the broken one (which btw is 300W) back home. Question is how. And then I will have to get this fucker fixed. But when I order to large frites, 2 Hamburger Specials and 2 Banana Milkshakes, you don't make the milkshakes first while both the burgers and fries ain't reeady. Next to that, you don't put the shakes in the bag already and then 10 minutes later put the warm burgers next to it in and then the hot frites on top of the milkshakes in the same bag! You oughta put them at least in a seperate bag. Gawd that was a live demonstration of how to ruin a perfectly good milkshake. Jesus H Fucking Christ on a pink bicycle. 4:41 pm	Childhood's end Worked outside one of the primary schools in the area today. during the kids' break, it hit me how fast time goes. Watching them play made me wanna be a kid again. No worries about anything. Just playing and have fun. Same later today when some kids were walking around with toy guns playing to be soldiers...I miss those good old days. I am happy where I am today, but sometimes it would be nice to just be a kid again... I'm glad school started again, specially (junior) highschool. All the lovely girlies walking and driving by on their bicycles. Sight for sore eyes sometimes... Gawd I'm such a pervert, hahahahaha Work's fine. Sometimes a slow start in the morning for my feeling. Really like there's no end til the first break and before you know it, the day is over and you go home again. 9:03 pm	Tired as fuck, What I've been up to, Wild Sugar and more Jezus H Fucking Christ, I'm tired as fuck. Been busy days/weeks lately. So here's a quicky update for ya! Work's killer in a good way. I'm pretty much in control which is cool. Not completely something I'm used too but they wanna make a foreman so that's waht they let me do. I got my own crew I have control over. Bitch ass! the only rotten thing about the job is the rain. When the rain gets too heavy, you have to take shelter in the car. I don't mind that for like 10 minutes after that I get bored shitless. I'm not the kinda guy to sit still and do nothing. I wanna work. Dark Summer and good things coming Summer Darkness was fun. Didn't see too many bands cuz I had to work @ the festival. Which was fun and boring and stressfull at the dame time. First day sell bandmerchandise for Within Temptation. Didn't go as well as I hoped. Kinda panicked in the beginning cuz I wasn't completely ready yet and there wuz too many people wanting stuff. Second day there was no bandmerchandise so they put me together with the girl who was to sell the festivalmerchandise (and she was hot too). That was fun. Third day of work again festival merchandise and it was boring as fuck. Mainly cuz most people already had there festivalshirt already. Nothing to do until the last hour *YAWN* But I did get to see Christian Death and the 69 Eyes (69 eyes were the only band @ the festival I really wanted to see). Got some killershots I still gotta sort through. But goddamn did they rock. And they will be back on february 28 @ the Boerderij in Zoetermeer. I haven't been there for ages. Hell I actually never been there for a gig. I used to rehearse there with Medea. Talking of places I haven't been in ages...Waterfront in Rotterdamn. Me, Youri and Ricky once started out there rehearsing before Medea even was named Medea. I might be back there on september 13 cuz the Backyard Babies will be playing there with Crucified Barbara as supportact. And I still wanna see Crucified Barbara. So I actually have to be there right?! Get yourself a slice of (Wild) Sugar pie Wild Sugar's been a roll lately. Our new singer Stan Nightingale really overflows with wild ideas. We've been working on a lot of new songs lately. I've been dying to let you guys here some real Wild Sugar and now the time is finally there... Beter yet, last saterday I got recognized by a guy who happens to be one of the organizers of IJzertijd, which is held @ the Rataplan in Bilthoven. We played there last december (when we were still a coverband) and that was our best gig ever. IJzertijd audience rocks!!! Anyway, IJzertijd will start again in September (every second friday of the month) and the guy was interested if we wanted to play there again. HELL YEAH!!! So still to be confirmed but we gonna try and see if we can hit the stage there in october. The sooner the better, I've been locked up in the rehearsalspace for far too long again already. But first make sure Stan knows the lyrics by heart. Get another band interested to play with us (already got one in mind). But yeah, me and the boys are on a roll. Music is my passion Recently got me the New Alice Cooper and the new Mötley Crüe (I can recommend both) and the new Slipknot All Hope is Gone limited edition. Personally I don't think it's as good as Vol. 3, but it's still a killer album. And I'm looking for the cd Gently Destructive by Brainshake for my girlfriend cuz she saw them live once and was sold. Brainshake is no more (after one of the bandmembers, I believe the singer, left and is now in Textures) and the CD is quite a bitch to find really. But I really wanna have it to give to her as a present. Afterall today is our 10 month anniversary and even though I will get it her late, what better way to suprise her with something like that. So if anyone has the CD and wants t sell it or knows anyone who knows anyone who has the CD and wants to sell it, let me know. *puppyeyes, pretty please* It's only rock n' roll and a dirty job but someone's gotta do it. Work all day and still go to bed late and wreck myself that way... Nah, I'm off to make my bread for tomorrow and get to bed for some sleep. Rock like Fuck! 9:56 pm	Grandma's homemade (wild) Sugar Pie Get yourself a slice... Hehehehe, the first ever Wild Sugar, that's my band, recordings are in and what can I say... I think I just got a hard-on. Still very raw recordings, I dunno if any will surface online soon, but I would love to give you a slice of the pie and put some stuff up on Myspace or something. Dunno how the rest of the guys feel about it, but personally, i think it's time to put us on the map. You've done long enough without ever hearing us. Guess we'll just have to keep an eye out...
